One controversial except from the inaugural speech of the incumbent president admonished Ghanaians to be citizens but not spectators henceforth!  Likewise I, holding the pen into a position which I can say what is right and what could transform our royal club for the good of all must not be done with fear.

Ghana's version of El Classico, in fact the most watched football match in the Ghanaian soil comes off on Sunday, July 2, 2017, as the most successful club in Ghana (Asante Kotoko SC) battle it out with Accra Hearts of Oak in the President Cup match organized by Ghana League Clubs Association.

This epic encounter is promised to showcase amazing talents the two glamorous clubs are having and no true football fun or sympathizer would want to miss it. One key feature that these two biggest clubs always bring on board apart from the natural excitement of football, is Spiritualities (Juju) that characterise their matches.

Many believe in the scientific approach of football and others also believe hugely in the spiritual approach of it.

Two key personalities that cannot be overlooked when looking critically at football and spiritualism involving these clubs in Ghana are; the late Kwaku Adusei (Kanawu) and Alhaji Ali Maradona. The two beliefs that a team can win a match with a strong spiritual preparations.

As a staunch Christian  (A member of the Methodist Church Ghana ) ,I have a firm belief that one needs to prepare adequately for both physical and spiritual before he/she can survive on this earth.

But Asante Kotoko SC have suffered the most about certain aspect of this spirituality that characterizes football whenever we battle it out with Hearts of Oak.

And for Asante Kotoko SC to win Sunday's match with our bitterest rivals, those at the helm of affairs and players need to take off their mind from mischievous antics of our opponent and believe in their own arsenals.

One misconception that is affecting Asante Kotoko Sc is that Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium is the home of Accra Hearts of Oak,   through this the team have suffered most of its worst defeat in Kumasi.

It is without doubt that for us to win this match, we need to do away with this substandard, below par, untrue, old-fashioned and weird misconception which is haunting us.

The players must be enlightened about the outmoded antics of Hearts of Oak players and supporters which bring fear and uneasiness among them.

It will not be surprising to see Hearts of Oak players coming from the tunnel to the pitch with huge flag covering them and powder. These are some of the archaic ways Hearts of Oak use to cause mayhem in the team, and rank and file of Asante Kotoko SC must not stoop to it.

Another myth we need to guard against is that, Kotoko-Hearts matches are not determined by 'form'. It is palpably erroneous because our worst defeat against Hearts came when Hearts of Oak were in top 'form' and we must also exhibit it whenever we play them.

With our amazingly dazzling display and brilliant resurgent run, we need not to give attention to any myth from dismantling Hearts of Oak on Sunday. The players must develop mental fortitude and never give up spirit as they meet face -to-face with Hearts of Oak.

Our vociferous supporters must also know this "The spirited horse, which will try to win a race of its own accord, will run even faster if encouraged".  We must display our unflinching, monumental and indefatigable support on Sunday because together we will determine the course of Asante Kotoko Sc.

I strongly believe that with the likes of Felix Annan, Eric Donkor, Amos Frimpong, Awal Mohammed, Ahmed Adams, Emmanuel Gyamfi etc, we will triumph over Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Success start with optimism. Therefore, let us all hope for massive win on Sunday.

Faaaaaaaaaaaabulous............... The Greatest!!!
