Mr Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, newly appointed Chairman of the Governing Body of the National Sports Authority (NSA)

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has honored the former Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang by appointing him as the Chairman of the Governing Body of the National Sports Authority (NSA).

By a letter dated the 8th of September and signed by the Chief of Staff, Mrs Frema Osei-Opare, the President urged the former MP to bring his immense expertise to the Board of the National Sports Authority as Chairman.

The President, the letter intimated has an unwavering confidence in Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, a sports enthusiast and consultant to deliver on the mandate his position entails.

Concluding, the President congratulated the former MP and youth leader and urged him to bring his expertise and mobilizing spirit to bear on the re-organization efforts of the government in the area of Sports in the country.


In an exclusive chat with the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, Mr Kwadwo Baah Agyemang expressed his delight with the appointment.

He thanked the president for the bouts of confidence he has reposed in him by appointing him to such high office.

According to him, this is a testament that the President has his eyes on everybody in the country, adding this will spur him on to achieve the target set by the government in realigning the sports ministry for optimum results.

‘’I am elated by this appointment given to me because it tells me that the President has his eyes on everybody in the country and will in due time honor all who are doing something meaningful for our people’’, Mr Baah Agyemang posited.


Mr Baah Agyemang noted his determination to bring the wealth of experience he has garnered in the sports field over two decades into his position.

According to him, though he will be helping to coordinate affairs under the National Sports Authority he will be offering useful directions for the Authority to achieve its aims and objectives.

Having being a team player and manager all his life, Mr Agyemang indicated his readiness to tap into the ideas and suggestions members at the Authority will come up with to ensure they build a vibrant NSA.

He stressed his confidence in charting a progressive path where all sporting divisions under the NSA will be supported to make their contributions impactful on the lives of all Ghanaians.
