A ten (10) member committee tasked to construct an ultra-modern office complex for the Ashanti Regional branch of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been inaugurated in Kumasi.
The team made up of veteran politicians and entrepreneurs including the regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah and Osei Assibey Antwi, Metropolitan Chief Executive for Kumasi as well as Hon George Oduro, MP for New Edubiase and Deputy Minister for Agric have been asked to first locate a land and thereafter come up with plans to construct the office complex.
Inaugurating the committee at a brief ceremony at the party’s rented offices in Krofrom, Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP expressed delight at the opportunity to construct a permanent office for party.
According to him, the party has overgrown the era where it rented offices from private individuals to conduct its activities.
Mr Boasiako tasked the committee headed by Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, a known entrepreneur to come up with a plan to construct the office complex within the shortest possible time.
He stressed the need to deploy all resources to ensure the edifice is put up to serve the party in its activities.
According to him, these offices when completed will help party officers carry on with their specific assignments with ease.
Unlike their current rented place where privacy is limited to party officers, Chairman Wontumi, as the regional chair is fondly referred to by party faithful said this will be a thing of the past.
COMMITTEE CHAIR’S RESPONSE:
Speaking to CMonline on behalf the committee, Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo commended the regional chair for the confidence he has reposed in them.
He expressed the readiness of the committee to put their knowledge and expertise at the disposal of those who will do the actual construction.
According to him, the project when completed will serve first the NPP party as well as residents of the Region since it will become a place for the public.
As a sign of his appreciation for the honor done him and the rest of the members of the committee, Nana Boadu promised 1000 bags of cement for the start of the project when the plot of land is finally secured.
