The Ashanti regional minister, Simon Osei Mensah has charged Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to be focused on the mandate given to them by the president and the Ghanaian people.

This, he noted is the only way they can work to bring about the needed development in their localities.

Administering the oath of office to some three new chief executives drawn from the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, Bosome Freho and Kwabre East district assemblies, the regional minister urged them to be diligent in their work.

According to him, only focused persons achieve results in life no matter where they are placed to work.

COUNSEL:

To effectively administer their individual localities, Mr Osei Mensah encouraged the chief executives to regularly consult chiefs and opinion Ieaders for advice.

According to him, one can effectively work when the people feel part of the development process.

He, therefore, charged the DCEs to seek counsel from those who matter in the governance process.

Mr Osei Mensah reminded them of the commitment the party had made to the people of Ghana and rallied them to lead with humility at all times.

RESPONSE:

Responding to the minister's charge on behalf of his colleagues, Alidu Seidu, Municipal Chief Executive for Asokore Mampong pledged to work with the seriousness their offices demand.

This, he stressed was to ensure they fulfill the purpose they were chosen by the president to head their respective localities.

He promised to work with diligence and in humility so as to carry the residents along.

Mr Alidu commended the president and the regional minister for the confidence they have reposed in them, adding that they would collaborate with their respective assembly members to ensure development becomes an automatic dividend.
