Patrons at the sixth awards ceremony by the famous Foklex Media Productions organized at the plush Golden Tulip Hotel last week Saturday, were sent into a state of frenzy as many famous media personalities swept away prizes that were at stake at the ceremony.
With about 300 nominations coming from the six regions, namely Ashanti, Brong-Ahafo, Eastern, Western, Northern and Central regions, outstanding personalities got away with two or more awards at the colorful ceremony.
In Ashanti, Otec Fm, a popular radio station in Kumasi swept home four awards and interestingly last year's winner, Kwabena Ampratwum retained his crown as the best morning show presenter.
In the area of reporting, the veteran journalist, Sampson K. Nyamekye of Hello and Peace Fm fame took home the coveted accolade of news reporter of the year.
Addressing patrons and nominees before the ceremony, Mr Frank Akwasi Owusu expressed delight at the popularity the awards was gaining across the country.
According to him, the overwhelming acceptance by the six regions about the awards had encouraged him to reach out to all the regions of the country.
With little resources, the CEO indicated his contentment about the enthusiasm shown by various media houses and personalities across the country.
He, therefore, encouraged the corporate community to partner his outfit into drawing up more encouraging promotional programs for media personalities across the country.
OTHER AWARD WINNERS.
In the Eastern Region, Justina Ansah from the Obuoba Fm won the prize as mid-morning host of the year, while Abena Pokua of Agoo Fm also took home the prize for Newscaster of the year.
The Western Region's Kobby Stone of Kyzz fm took home the title as sports show host of the year, with Nana Ama Antwiwaa taking home the crown for the local newscaster of the year.
Up North, Sokanshli Ganiu of Filla fm got home the newscaster of the year title, with Drive time host of the year going to Abdul Hassan of Justice Fm.
The Central Region's Solomon Addai Munumkum of Nkwa Fm, got the accolade as best morning show host of the year, while Van Acquah from Ahomka Fm was crowned as the sports host of the year.
