MTN has partnered African Movies on the Go (AMGO) to launch a mobile application (app) that will allow people to watch movies on their phones. Known as AMGO App, it allows subscribers to download and stream high quality African movies.

Launching the app, the acting Head of Products and Services at MTN, Mr Bless Sefenu Agordjo, said the partnership and subsequent launch of the product were in line with MTN’s new vision of delivering a bold and new digital world that would improve the lives of customers.

Ghana’s economy is in a “bad” and “dire” shape, Chairman of consultancy firm Ishmael Yamson & Associates has said.

"I just want to be very honest, this economy is...in a bad shape. If anybody tells you that there is anything to write home about, I would say just be cautious," the former Unilever Board Chairman told Kojo Yankson on the Super Morning Show on Wednesday, 18 January.

He argued that if an economy that grew at 14.4% now grows at a 2016 estimate of 3.3%, then “let us not make any bones about it".

Bush fires have destroyed large numbers of mango plantations at Gushei in the Savelugu Municipality of the Northern Region. The cultivation of mango plantation was introduced in the Region about 15 years ago by Integrated Tamale Food Company (ITFC) with the aim to introduce another cash crop alongside shea production in the area.
